XSLT (XSL Transformations) are thought of as a simple and effective scripting language to manipulate XML documents. XSLT can be used in a broad range of applications encompassing publishing and application integration. XSLT has a distinct functional/recursive flavour (as opposed to procedural programming languages, such as Java). This article illustrates that understanding the XSLT working model makes it possible to develop algorithms that work well with the language.
